1856 The Popular History of England Full Leather Book Set

Rare 1856 Set of The Popular History of England: An illustrated history of society and government by the earliest period to our own time by Charles Knight. This is a full set of 8 books and they were published in London by Bradbury and Evans. This set is heavily illustrated with lots of full page engravings that are very detailed… you can see there is one of Queen Elizabeth and multiple others Kings/ Queens… there are also full double page maps and smaller engravings! I adore this set so much and would keep myself!!
These are full pink leather, with the spines faded to a beautiful light tan! They are all in great condition for their age… no cracking on the hinges and the bindings are nice and tight.
They came out of an amazing, high end estate… and were very well cared for and kept in glass cabinets for safe keeping. I will add the information of the previous owner, with the sale of the books. These still have the slip on them, saying they were shipped from England.
